Year-Round Camping
Did you know that many of the kids we work with have not traveled outside of a small radius surrounding their homes? Many have not seen Lake Michigan, only a few miles from home. Gang lines are drawn around certain neighborhoods and even if you don't belong to a gang you become associated with the gang that "owns" your turf. If you cross the line you may be at risk yourself. Also, many of the families of the children we minister to can't afford to take a vacation. As a result we have found that for many kids a camping trip is the first time they have experienced the beauty of nature.
Our year-round camping trips provide youth the opportunity to experience God through His creation. Each camping program is designed around the specific needs of a particular age group of youth that attend programs at the center.
The goals of evangelism and discipleship are enhanced by such stretching experiences as canoeing, biking, backpacking, tent camping, winter retreats and other outdoor activities.

Robert Rivera
Robert graduated from Moody Bible Institute. Today he serves as a youth pastor in his local church, which is attended by current ICI kids. He also works full time at Moody Bible Institute and occasionally plays basketball with the Friday morning pick up league.
